League plugin

The league plugin connects your site to FixturesLive data, and creates a set of ‘core’ Pages to allow users to click from team to league and so on, as you do on FixturesLive itself.

Settings
These need to be correct:

  • your LeagueID – this is your LeagueID on FixturesLive
  • your Data Key – this defines your web services/data feed account
    • this is available by annual subscription – see pricing
    • NB this is not the same key as used in our javascript embedding feature, which many sites use

‘Core’ Pages
(deleting some of them them will cause errors):

  • Fixtures (displays fixture detail) – is essential so users can click around
  • Teams – is essential so users can click around
  • Venues (displays venue detail) – is essential so users can click around
  • External competition – is essential so users can click around
  • Leagues (lists your current divisions) – can be removed from the menu
  • Cups (lists your current cups) – can be removed from the menu
  • Archives (lists your league’s archived competitions) – can be removed from the menu

Widgets
You can add these to areas of your site by going to Appearance/Widgets:

  • Map of clubs – this gives a map showing the locations of clubs currently playing in your league, where clubs have added some contact detail (as set in the FixturesLive Club Admin area – Info/Settings)
  • Mini table – this gives a league table without added detail – useful to add a ‘featured division’ to your home page e.g. the top division in your league
  • Competition list – a list of your current competitions
  • League/cup navigation helper – useful to place in the right hand side of the Easy Theme so that users can easily view other competitions without returning to the main menu

Shortcodes
These are useful where you want to add FixturesLive data to a Page without using a Widget. These are listed in our Support area.
